ILCAO’s Family Medical Centers support community health at annual “Meet the Redmen” back-to-school event

Family Medical Centers (FMC), a healthcare system operated by the Ironton-Lawrence Community Action Organization, was pleased to take part in the annual “Meet the Redmen” back-to-school event organized by the Rock Hill School District. The event served as a chance for FMC to interact with students and families, sharing information about the services available at FMC Rock Hill.

At the event, the team from FMC Rock Hill welcomed both returning and new students, introducing them to the wide range of on-site health care services, including dental, behavioral, and primary healthcare. FMC’s Community Health Workers were also present, offering information and giveaways, including prize drawings.

Operating 8 federally qualified health care centers in Lawrence County, FMC Rock Hill caters to students, family members, and community members. As part of the Community Action network, all FMC staff are well-versed in ILCAO’s services, offering referrals to additional supportive services like workforce development, early childhood education, and public transportation.

“FMC is committed to our community’s health, and events like these give us the chance to directly engage with students and families,” said Director of FMC Operations Michael Kingery. “We’re glad to share information that can contribute to their well-being as they start the new school year.”

Prizes included a new bicycle won by LouAnn Capper and an Oral B electric toothbrush won by Candy Cochran. As the new school year progresses, Family Medical Centers looks forward to continuing its valuable support for the Rock Hill School District and the broader community, with a focus on health and well-being.

FMC extends gratitude to the Rock Hill School District for their continued partnership and the invitation to participate in this event. FMC remains dedicated to a united team delivering excellent healthcare services, prioritizing ongoing learning and collaboration while maintaining top care standards for patients.
